A climb above the lake · Lake Alpine
Lake Alpine to
Inspiration Point
For a bigger view of Lake Alpine, take the uphill trail toward Inspiration Point. Begin at the trailhead south of Pine Marten Campground, follow the Lakeshore Trail, then take the Inspiration Point branch into the climb.
This is a short mountain hike, not a flat lakeside stroll. The Forest Service describes an uphill route with views toward Spicer Reservoir and the Dardanelles. Plan time for the descent, and enjoy lunch or provisions at Lake Alpine Lodge afterward when it is open.
Lakeshore approach & uphill trail
From the shore toward the summit
The line follows mapped trails from Pine Marten. It stops about 200 feet (60 metres, straight-line) northeast of the summit pin; the final summit approach is not included. The separate pin is a landmark, not a direction to walk cross-country.

This 2.1-mile out-and-back file turns around at the upper mapped trail endpoint, short of the summit. Follow established paths on the ground, and turn back if the way is unclear. Save it offline before leaving.
