Start at Stanislaus River Campground—not the campground at Spicer Reservoir—and head downstream from the campground's river-access area toward a naturally polished granite channel.
The destination is well located, but the bank-side route is neither signed nor mapped as a maintained trail. Expect route-finding over uneven granite and forest terrain, and turn back if the safe line is not obvious.
